The Perfect Steak

As members of the prestigious Guild of Q Butchers, quality is our watchword. Thats means our steaks are perfect... a treat to enjoy however you like it, rare or well done.

To make sure you get the most out of your steak, just follow the instructions below.

Blue

Blue

Seared on the outside for 1 minute on each side, ensure all edges of the meat are sealed.

The meat should have a 100% red centre with an internal temperature of around 10-29 deg C.

The meat should feel spongy with no resistance.

Rare

Rare

Seared on the outside for 2 ½ minutes each side.

The meat should have a 75% red centre with an internal temperature of around 30-51 deg C.

The meat should soft and spongy with a slight resistance.

Medium Rare

Seared on the outside for 3-4 minutes each side.

The meat should have a 50% red centre with an internal temperature of around 57-63 deg C.

The meat should feel fairly soft, fairly spongy and slighty springy.

Medium

Seared on the outside for 4 minutes on each side.

The meat should have a 25% pink centre with an internal temperature of around 63-68 deg C.

The meat should feel fairly firm and springy.

Medium Well

Medium Well

Cooked for 5 minutes on each side.

The meat should have a slight hint of pink in the centre with an internal temperature of around 72-77 deg C.

The meat should feel firm with a slight spring.

Well Done

Well Done

Cooked for 6 minutes on each side.

The meat should be 100% brown throughout with an internal temperature over 77 deg C.

The meat should feel very firm and will spring back quickly.
