New Q Sausage - Eat Healthily and Shape Up for Summer!

A brand new sausage from local Q butcher C & G Starkey aims to get consumers onto a healthier eating regime and help shape up in time for summer.

Lean and Lo Sweet Chilli Sausage is an exclusive recipe to the Guild of Q Butcher and as members of the elite organisation, C & G Starkey will be offering this reduced salt and extra lean pork sausage, which has a real bite! Made using lean pork, sweetened chillies, tomato, garlic and herbs, the sausage contains 70% pork, 1.1% salt and less than 10% fat.

"Many consumers are looking for healthy options at this time of the year," explains Graham Starkey. The guild wanted to produce a recipe for its members which fitted that bill but which could also add a little bit of excitement.

"The new sausage has none of the blandness often associated with products claiming to be healthy," continues Graham Starkey, "It may be low in salt and low in fat, but with the addition of sweetened chillies, it has excellent flavour with a mild, yet tingly, pepper aftertaste."
